Forgiving Freely

Dear Dad,

I want you to know I forgave you. The scars from the past will only fade, but not go away because sin hurts.  And forgiveness doesn’t erase the consequences of sin.

The family I grew up in is broken. And I forgive you.

Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

I can forgive freely because God gives me the strength to lay it all down at His feet.

Every.Single.Hurt.

God’s gift to me is freedom from bitterness and shame. Freedom to live in Him, His joy.

Freedom to look to Him for what the Fathers’ perfect love is.

Dear Jesus, thank you for being my refuge and my perfect Daddy. Thank you for working all things together for the good of those who wait on you. Amen.
