Last Friday, the final day of Bart’s vacation, we ate steak that…..gasp…. I made!
And it was delicious!
I learned that restaurant style steak is super quick and pretty darn simple.
So here’s what I learned from a you tube video:
- Pre-heat your oven to 450 degrees farenheit
Let your steak rest at room temperature until it is no longer cool (approximately half an hour)
Once room temperature, prep your steak with a light layer of olive oil then salt and pepper
Brown your steak 2 minutes to a side over High heat on the stove turning only once. You are looking for a nice brown “crust”.
Then pop them in the oven, pan and all, for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Remove and let rest for 5 minutes.
This time of year we have zucchini coming out of our eyeballs. So if your husband is itching to use the barbecue have him fire it up! Cut your zucchini into 2″ sticks and lightly braise with butter and salt then grill for two minutes.
